EMPHASIS TO PUBLISH SILKWINDS, THE INFLIGHT MAGAZINE OF SILKAIR
SilkAir is the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, one of the world’s most trusted brands. The regional carrier offers a premium inflight experience to sophisticated business and leisure travellers who expect comfort and service. SilkAir has been repeatedly voted Best Regional Airline by Asia Pacific’s travel trade. It is also the only regional airline to break into Travel & Leisure’s coveted “Top Ten World’s Best Airlines” list in 2005 and 2006.
With the addition of Silkwinds to its growing portfolio, Emphasis continues to move outward from its headquarters in Hong Kong. Emphasis already publishes Singapore Airlines’ inflight entertainment guide KrisWorld and has assumed publishing responsibility of Priority and Lifestyle Privileges in July. Silkwinds joins these publications, all of which will be managed via the company’s new Singapore office.
“Welcoming SilkAir to our family of inflight clients is especially gratifying,” noted Monica Woo, Emphasis’ Managing Director. “As the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, with whom we have a very good relationship, SilkAir is well-known for its premium service and its exotic network. This offers the opportunity for fresh exciting travel content and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to create an exclusive magazine for customers of SilkAir.”
Managing Editor Felicity Glover, who is responsible for the Singapore Airlines-related magazines at Emphasis, added, “In looking at SilkAir, we have an award-winning regional airline flying to numerous exotic destinations, an airline that spares no expense to make flying a memorable experience, and for us to contribute to the overall inflight experience by producing a wonderful magazine is very exciting. We will be catering to a spectrum of interests, and, taking into consideration the SilkAir passenger demographics, we will be doing so through sophisticated, classy, intelligent content and mesmerising photography.”
"As we work to enhance every aspect of our customers' travel experience on SilkAir, our aspiration is for the new Silkwinds to set a new standard for inflight reading" said, Vice President Commercial of SilkAir, David Lim. “We’re looking for more than just an onboard title but a fresh, trendy brand tool that speaks to and engages our customers in a meaningful way.”
About SilkAir
As the region’s premier regional airline, SilkAir has long been the champion of diverse, secondary destinations in Asia, many of which are still relatively untouched by mass tourism. The airline operates 191 flights weekly to 27 exotic destinations across 10 countries. SilkAir operates a fleet of 14 Airbus A-320 family aircraft; with 11 more of the same type on firm order and options for a further nine.
