EMPHASIS MEDIA WINS THE 21ST ASEANTA AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

HONG KONG, 31 January 2007 – Emphasis Media has won the award for Best ASEAN Travel Article at the 21st ASEANTA Awards for Excellence 2007. The awards ceremony was held yesterday, 30 January 2007 at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore.

The winning entry entitled “Maverick Malate”, was a feature article in the May 2006 issue of
Discovery, the inflight magazine of Cathay Pacific Airways. The article spotlighted the unique characteristics of Malate, Manila's bohemian quarter.

The ASEANTA Awards for Excellence recognise individuals and organisations that have contributed to the development and promotion of ASEAN destinations. The panel of judges included the Chairman of the Intra-ASEAN Travel Committee of ASEANTA, Tunku Iskandar; the Secretary General of ASEANTA, Mr Mohd Ilyas Zainol Abidin and TTG Asia Editor, Ms
Raini Hamdi.
